¹⁷ And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds^(A) flying in midair,^(B) “Come,^(C) gather together for the great supper of God,^(D)

²⁵ “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.^(A)

⁶ but streams^[a] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.

⁷ Then the Lord God formed^(A) a man^[a](B) from the dust^(C) of the ground^(D) and breathed into his nostrils the breath^(E) of life,^(F) and the man became a living being.^(G)

⁹ The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees^(A) that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life^(B) and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.^(C)

¹⁹ Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals^(A) and all the birds in the sky.^(B) He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called^(C) each living creature,^(D) that was its name.

² Later she gave birth to his brother Abel.^(A)

Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.^(B)
